Dr. Tomohiro Inoue is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. in Disability Sciences from the University of Tsukuba in 2012. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta, Canada, where he worked on several cross-linguistic projects on literacy development. His research focuses on how children develop reading and writing skills in different languages and how family and school environments support this process. He has published more than 70 journal papers and several books and book chapters. His recent projects, supported by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, examine literacy development in Chinese, Japanese, and English. Dr. Inoue has received awards such as the CUHK Young Researcher Award (2023) and the Mid-Career Research Award from the Association for Reading and Writing in Asia (2023). He also serves as an Associate Editor for Reading and Writing and is on the editorial boards of Scientific Studies of Reading and Applied Psycholinguistics.
